Every corporation must create new business models to minimise disruption, generate efficiency and modify mission-critical systems without risking the company’s previously built reputation. A befitting solution to this fix, is SAP’s latest innovation - RISE with SAP. RISE with SAP is a comprehensive service that includes Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning modules for all of your company’s needs.
It is a complete Business-Transformation-as-a-Service (BTaaS) service that goes beyond Infrastructure-as-a-Service or Software-as-a-Service to give all of the components required to aid an intelligent organisation in a single package. Customers worldwide have responded positively to the deployment of RISE with SAP within their firms. According to a survey carried out by SAPinsider, 90% of SAP clients showed an active interest in deploying RISE with SAP, stating reasons as mentioned in the image below.
However, many clients are still unaware of the potential of its extent. So the question arises – When assessing a prospective RISE with SAP implementation to support your operations in 2022, what are the factors you keep in mind? Here is an insight on the same –
COST FACTOR:
According to SAPinsider studies, decreasing costs is a main concern for enterprises when they migrate SAP workloads to the cloud, and this is especially essential for those installing SAP S/4HANA. However, cost has not deflected attention away from change. The top three roles that respondents envision RISE with SAP performing in their larger SAP S/4HANA projects are transformational in nature, and include process, data, and change transformation. RISE with SAP modules reduce the cost burden that comes along with the same and so, its deployment is highly recommended!
PARTNER COLLABORATION:
A majority of clients are concerned about what a mixed vendor landscape would mean for them. SAP insider’s RISE Benchmark Report highlights the same concern that reveals, over 90% of responders support non-SAP-to-SAP integration situations. Offering a choice of which partners to collaborate with for hosting, advising, installation, and application administration is a critical aspect of the SAP's BTaaS proposal.
SECURITY STRATEGY:
RISE with SAP is intended to assist SAP clients with migrating and running their operations on the cloud. Part of a company's cybersecurity is passed off to its cloud partner and SAP during a RISE with SAP implementation, but other functions stay with the client. You must be aware of where your obligations and liabilities end. In the traditional on-premises world, everything was under the customer's control and responsibility. With Rise with SAP, customers must now reconsider their roles, obligations, and liabilities in light of the transformation strategy.
CONTRACTS PROCEDURE:
Prior to the RISE with SAP offering, a company going to the cloud had to sign software application licences with various partners, choose a hyperscale, and employ application providers for deployment and administration. This necessitated the implementation of several commercial constructions, governance structures, service-level agreements (SLA), and support agreements. The RISE with SAP contract procedure and responsibility have been streamlined; nonetheless, the SAP S/4HANA licence has gotten more difficult, including indirect access. Customers should spend some time analysing their present licences and mapping them to SAP S/4HANA licences to prevent exorbitant costs and underused apps.
SAP S/4 HANA DEPLOYMENT:
While many firms have gone live with SAP S/4HANA, at least three times that many existing corporate ERP clients have yet to make the shift. Choosing a partner with experience installing SAP S/4HANA was identified as the most important criterion for SAP transformation and RISE by respondents. It is vital to get a partner who has expertise not just deploying SAP S/4HANA but also undertaking transformation and standardisation. However, as 2027 approaches, finding these partners may become more challenging, as more enterprises seek to make headway on their larger transformation and SAP S/4HANA programmes.
